This article aims to discuss the concepts of continuity and discontinuity of sonic time from the perspective structured within Sonic Domain Theory (Codeço 2019). This theory constitutes a framework of analytical and compositional tools constructed from Smolin's (2013) perspective on time, the Syncretic Thought proposed by Halac (2013), and the application of Xenakis's (1990) concepts of outside-time/in-time. We begin by presenting the concepts of sonic time (passive time), sonic space (active space), and perturbation of sonic space, all originating from Sonic Domain Theory, then engage in a critical dialogue with the approaches of Guyau (2010) and Prigogine (1996), accompanied by a succinct analysis, in order to propose a typology of sonic spaces. Subsequently, we articulate the concepts of continuity and discontinuity of sonic time and their respective sonic spaces, drawing on the work of Hasty (1986) and Grisey (1987), Kramer (1988), and Messiaen (1994).
